The Help Desk is operated by the Information Systems division, and is tasked with providing installation and support of approved hardware, software, and services to many divisions within the Department of Commerce.

System Status

The system status page will display information on the operation of the computer network at Commerce related sites. Any planned maintenance will be listed here to aid you in planning. Please understand that unscheduled maintenance (emergency events) are as disruptive to the IS staff as they are to you, and we will do our best to recover as quickly as possible.

Demonstrations

We're excited to present our latest tool to help you be productive in the workplace, recorded demonstrations. The demonstrations are designed to show you step-by-step how to complete specific computer related tasks such as zipping files, backing up your e-mail, or sending files via FTP.

Web Ticket System - to request additions, modifications, or enhancements to the Web sites.

All requests for additions, modifications, or enhancements to the Web sites must be submitted via the ticketing system. Login credentials are the same for both the Web Ticket System and the Trouble Ticket System.

If you are experiencing technical difficulties with your computer and can use the Web (if you can view this page) please submit a trouble ticket to have your issue assigned to a technician. If your computer is not functional, please use a peer's computer to enter your trouble ticket. If you do not have another computer that you can use to enter your request, or your are traveling, please call the Help Desk at 919-733-2192 and a technician will assist you.
