Permanent employees with at least one year (12 months) of current service (permanent or temporary) who are regularly scheduled to work 20 hours or more each week (half time) are eligible to apply for up to 12 weeks of family medical leave in any given 12 month period. Employees may use this leave for a serious health condition or injury, impairment, or physical, mental condition that involves impatient care in a hospital, hospice or a medical facility. Any period of incapacity due to pregnancy or for prenatal care. Illness or treatment that DO NOT MEET the definition: common cold, flu, ear aches, upset stomach, minor ulcers, headaches, routine dental or orthodontia problems.
