February has been proclaimed as American Heart Month.

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the United States, and unfortunately, most of us know someone who has had heart disease or a stroke. These conditions are also leading causes of disability preventing people from working and enjoying family activities.
In September 2011 the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) launched Million Hearts, co-led by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Million Hearts is a national initiative that aims to prevent heart attacks and strokes in the United States.
